Just got back from the Barron River. There were no bugs. However they were just starting to come out Saturday with the reasonably warm temps. Look out May 24 weekend!
Portages around the entire Barron River & area are not in great condition, especially after the wind Friday. Lots of trees and braches down.
We saw a young black bear at the 420M portage on the Barron River (up from Squirrel rapids). One look at us and he ran away!
